The Lifestyle Blog I Said I’d Never Write
Lifestyle blogs are shallow. They’re frivolous. There’s no meat them. They’re all makeup and clothes. And what the heck is a lifestyle blog anyway?
“A lifestyle blog is best defined as a digital content representation of its author’s everyday life and interests. A lifestyle blogger creates content inspired and curated from their personal interests and daily activities.” (mediakix.com)
This is a lifestyle blog.
This is the lifestyle blog I said I’d never write. I thought I wasn’t girly enough and that no one would care to read about my life. I had more important things to say to the world.
That’s why I started writing about business and how women can use business to create lives of inspiration, excitement, and freedom on my blog Amber Uninhibited. I wrote about how they can then use that inspiration, excitement, and freedom to spend more time doing things that fill their hearts up. I still love writing about those things, but…
that blog is about how to live a life that fills your heart.
This blog is about the things that fill my heart.
Because, you see, I read some lifestyle blogs, and I realized that lifestyle blogs are FUN. They’re inspiring. They’re informative. They’re PRETTY. And we all need more beauty in our lives.
This blog is about the little things, the beautiful everyday things.
I needed somewhere to share my craft projects, stories about my lovebirds, and cute fox pillow covers I found on Etsy.
I needed to connect with people who will appreciate my 90s grunge bohemian thrift store fusion style, my love of decorative post-it notes, and the ultra-geeky redo of my husband’s man cave that I’m planning over the winter.
It’s not about other people reading about my life or my interests. It’s about connecting with the right people, with similar interests, who belong in my life.
If you think you’re one of them, hang around for awhile. Let’s get to know each other.
Autumn on Fox Street is clearly a lifestyle blog, and I am pleasantly surprised that I’m here meeting you.
