Drug Store Makeup I’m Loving Right Now

I have been on a drugstore makeup binge lately! I’ve even been buying lipsticks, which is new territory for me …I used to hate having anything on my lips, but now I’m starting to have a lot of fun with all the colors, and while I haven’t found the perfect one yet, I’m obsessed with nude lipsticks. Recommendations, anyone?

Here’s what I’ve been wearing.

Milani Everyday Eyes Bare Necessities Palette

The Milani Everyday Eyes Bare Necessities palette is SEXY. Seriously. I love every shade in this neutral palette, and that never happens. There’s enough variety to wear this casually during the day and smoke it up at night. It comes with a decent brush, which is so much nicer than those cheap foam applicators. I’m excited to try some of the other palettes in this collection.

Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Matte Naked and Matte Innocence

These Milani Color Statement Lipsticks were my gateway drug into wearing lipstick! First, the colors are so pretty and natural looking. Second, they are MOISTURIZING like you cannot believe. One of the things I hate about lipstick is that it usually makes my lips feel dry/sticky/chapped/filmy…an assortment of gross sensations. This lipstick is creamy and my lips actually feel softer after I’ve worn it all day and taken it off. Can I please have these in every color?!

L.A. Colors Day to Night Palette

I got this L.A. Colors neutral¬†from Dollar General for $1.50, and it’s actually not bad for cheap makeup. I’d link you up to it online, but it’s more expensive online than it is in the store! The mattes are junk, so don’t buy it for those, but the shimmer colors are vibrant. I haven’t tested this one long enough to see how lasting it actually is, but I think if you wear a primer, you’ll be OK.

A few honorable mentions that I didn’t take photos of, but am totally in love with:

Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue Lip Balm

This Baby Lips medicated lip balm has menthol in it (I use the Too Cool flavor, not Coral Crave) and is cooling and soothing. I have a nervous lip biting issue on top of getting really chapped lips in winter. Having something on them reminds me not to chew them  AND it helps the dryness from the cold weather. This is my FAVORITE right now.

Broadway Colors True Matte Lipsticks

I believe these are ONLY available at Dollar General, and they’re only $3! I bought one to try it out because the colors are beautiful and there is a huge variety ranging from natural colors to bolder options like blue, purple, and black.

The thing I love about this lipstick is that it LASTS. I hate putting on lipstick, taking a sip of water, and having to reapply it. I drank two cups of coffee and an entire mason jar of water and this stuff didn’t move. The only thing I disliked was that it made my lips dry after awhile, but I put Baby Lips on top of it and it fixed the problem.

What’s your new drugstore makeup favorite?
